SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
The Scientific Conference for Students at Can Tho University took place on 22 June 2023. A group of students from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (Duong Cam Linh, Pham Le Minh Loc, Nguyen Ho Thanh Tuyen, Nguyen Nhat Huy, Nguyen Chi Hieu) who carried out the student research project entitled "The presence of antibiotic resistance genes and genetic characteristics of Escherichia coli and Salmonella isolated from Chinese water dragon (Physinathus concincinus) in Phu Quoc, Kien Giang province" under the guidance of Dr. Nguyen Khanh Thuan. The research group received the Second Prize at the Conference awarded by the Rector of Can Tho University. This is a great motivation for students to participate in scientific research. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine also advise that students with scientific research ideas should refer to the main list of priority scientific research topics in 2024 at Can Tho University here. You can then discuss your research ideas with your lecturer at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine for further guidance or refer to others with relevant expertise in the field of interest to support you. On average, proposals from 2 or 3 students from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine are approved by Can Tho University for research funding every year.
In addition, students from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine can participate in scientific research by engaging with different scientific research projects conducted by lecturers and staff. They will also have the opportunity to join different research projects from postgraduate students (master students and PhD candidates).
