 The programme aims at fostering strong, internationally oriented higher education systems in Southeast Asia with the capacity to contribute to sustainable development. To this end, a maximum of 46 new scholarships will be granted for development-related Master or Doctoral studies (see table below) for individuals who plan to pursue a career in teaching and/or research at a higher education institution in Southeast Asia.

 Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  1. Nationals of any SEAMEO member country (Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Malaysia, the Philippines, Timor Leste, Thailand, and Vietnam) who are employees of academic or research institutions or government agencies (priority is given to regular employees);
  2. Not more than 35 (Master's Degree) or 40 (PhD) years of age at the time of application;
  3. Have completed their last university degree not more than 6 years ago at the time of application;
  4. Proposed thesis research should align with SEARCA's overarching theme of Accelerating Transformation Through Agricultural Innovation (ATTAIN).
